Hot and Cold Aisle Containment Centers Are an Important Part of Any Data Center Conversations

Network racks

The last few weeks at work have been full of conversations about cold aisle containment strategies, server rack enclosures, and and electronic cabinet designs. Cold aisle containment for data centers are necessary because servers and switches pull out hanging panels around the cold aisles so that the hot air from the hot aisles does not enter the cold aisle containment sections.
The latest statistics indicate that 80% of data centers employ or are looking into installing cold or hot aisle containment systems to keep servers at the correct temperatures and reduce energy use. And while data center storage involves help desks and job tickets, it is also reliant on the equipment that is place.

As far as the data base is

Despite an increase in technology usage, hotel companies are finding it harder than ever to increase guest counts. Guests now have the ability to price check between multiple hotel destinations within seconds. They also have other accommodations options. Instead of sitting back frustrated about the declining customer numbers, it is important to adjust the business model and meet today?s hotel customers where they are at.

The internet is required for success
For many years, the internet was considered a useful tool for increasing hotel business success. Today, however, the internet has become not only a valuable, but necessary part of everyone?s lives. This means that you must be on the internet in order to succeed. The majority of hotel customers are on the inter

3 Types Of Electronic Storage For IT

electronic cabinet

Did you know that projections for 2015 indicated that end users would spend more than $180 billion on cloud services? That level of demand shows a need for as many servers as the industry can handle. In order to provide the capacity of storage required by consumers, server operators need the most advanced and organized system for their servers. To do this, IT professionals use electronic cabinets or racks to vertically stack servers. There are three main electronic cabinet designs that these professionals use.

  1. Open Frame
This type of electronic cabinet is exactly as described. The racks inside hold servers and the frame holds the racks. There are no doors, however, just exposed server racks held up by a frame. The best use cases for this design are high traffic electronics that require many wires and electronics that don’t require consistent temperatures.
  2. Rack Enclosures
If your servers need to be kept secure in an enclosure, but you would still like the ability to remove the walls to convert your server rack into a similar design to open frame racks, an enclosure is your best bet. Enclosures can withstand more weight, will still have some room for wires, and can be ordered in a variety of different sizes. Some have ventilation running through the walls to prevent overheating.
  3. Wall Mounts
Quite aptly, this type of data rack is mounted to the wall. Smaller than the other two due to its mounting point, wall mounted cabinets can support less weight. Since they are smaller, though, you will be able to find a place that they can be used that isn’t in the way. Also, wall mounted racks can be either open frame or enclosed.

When deciding between these three types of electronic cabinet, always keep in mind what you plan to use it for. If your needs are more in line with storing a lightweight durable electronic and you have space to spare, your best bet is probably an open frame rack. On the flip side, if you need to store something heavy while keeping it protected from accidents, an enclosure is probably best. Either way, with the growing cloud storage economy, it is even more imperative to provide secure and organized storage for everyone.

Demographic reporting

Demographic reporting tools are only going to be more needed from here. The world is growing and, as a result, technology is put in a demanding spot to grow even faster. Industries across the globe, from small local businesses to massive corporations, all need to become familiar with marketing analytics if they’re to stay afloat in an increasingly uneven future. Also known as geospatial analysis, these tools provide a much bigger picture of demographic shifts and the influence these changes will have on certain businesses, the economy as a whole and healthcare.

MIT Scientists Have Discovered a Cloud of Floating Technological Debris

prototype printed circuit boardsUnfortunately, humans don’t just pollute the air, earth, and oceans. In our short time exploring outer space, we’ve also created a fair amount of space debris, which orbits our planet in a loose web.

According to MIT News, hundreds of millions of pieces of space debris are currently orbiting the earth every single day. From old paint chips to even prototype printed circuit boards, this debris has formed a cloud that moves throughout the atmosphere at approximately 17,500 miles per hour. At such fast speeds, a piece of debris the size of a pebble can destroy a floating spacecraft.

Researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), along with NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense, have developed a new laser technique that can identify not only the exact location of this other space debris, but its actual contents as well.

The team of researchers are using ground-based telescopes and laser radar machines to track more than 17,000 objects floating in space to help prevent collisions with essential space machines and spacecrafts.

“In space, things just tend to break up over time, and there have been two major collisions over the last 10 years that have caused pretty significant spikes in debris,” said Michael Pasqual, a former graduate student in MIT’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. “If you can figure out what a piece of debris is made of, you can know how heavy it is and how quickly it could deorbit over time or hit something else.”

Researchers believe that prototype printed circuit boards within the cloud of space debris could exhibit unique polarization effects. As far as the construction of prototype printed circuit boards, there are three major types: single-sided, double-sided, and multi-layered. For the multi-layered prototype PCBs, the internal layers are able to be dedicated to power distribution, which decreases the loop area and provides a major boost to Electromagnetic interference (EM), also called radio-frequency interference.

Hopefully, thanks to advanced technology and hardworking researchers, our space programs will be able to prevent future disasters and eventually eradicate this growing cloud of outer space debris. If you want to learn more about the PCB fabrication process, contact PCB Unlimited today!
